There are a couple of really great things on the internet this fair Tuesday. I wish I could link to them all, but you know, I’m not Google.
- Edan has written a really lovely post at The Millions about giving books as gifts, reading in public and how both of these things might change in a world of ebooks: “For many of us, books are cultural signifiers: if you like this, you will like that, and I will like you. A book serves as an aesthetic litmus test, a conversation starter, a way to understand one another through a third party.”
- I’m a big fan of The Rumpus’ series “The Last Book I Loved.” It’s a simple idea well-executed. Check out the full series here.
- David Lynch’s The Interview Project is pretty damn cool. I love the look and feel of the site, too. (Via The Rumpus)
- Slate is running a food issue.
- And finally, Emily St. John Mandel, author of Last Night in Montreal, writes today’s Book Notes entry at Largehearted Boy. I love it. Surprise, surprise.
