Meet the Bookseller: Mr. Steve Ross

by Patrick on September 2, 2009

This is a new series we’re trying here at the Vroman’s Blog.  Basically, this is an attempt to introduce some of our charismatic and talented staff to the world of the internet.  First up is Vroman’s institution Mr. Steve Ross.  As you can see, we’re still working out some of the kinks in this thing, and any feedback you’d like to leave in the comments would be greatly appreciated.  For instance, should I nod more?

Best Children’s Bookseller ever! You did a great job Mr. Steve. Now they need to broadcast your phenomenal storytime.

Excellent nodding action. Great job!
But, um, where’s the cool bookstore background?

Love the Idea of the Video Blog…Please get rid of the table-thingie in front…very distracting..Not as distracting as your muscles, Patrick…which are quite enjoyable..but seriously that Table cuts the guests off in an un-artistic way..Why not some chairs..any chairs..so we can see you all sitting around..No need for the big obtrusive table unless you are showing us something…but it would look much accommodating and relaxed with you and the guests sitting in chairs…preferably nice ones..without the dang table..Oh, Got an Idea..I am the lady who absolutely Loves the Blue Little Table in the Ladies Room..it is an institution at Vromans.. Why not bring that Table which we Ladies all love (and miss when you take it to the Book Fair ) and put that between You and The Guests..Now: That is part of Vroman’s Style. I am serious..Try it out…See you all soon…

Excellent suggestions, Victoria. We’re going to experiment with a variety of formats for the next few. No need to have them all be exactly the same. I know that table of which you speak, but I’d never thought of using it. It’s not often that I venture into the ladies’ room, after all.

Am I viral yet?

The cut-in where you’re giving that adorable puppy a bath was brilliant, but this is actually the kind of YouTube clip I was referring to:

PS. I should have mentioned Anne Edkins’ blog, “You’ll Eat It and You’ll Like It.”

And so I have.
