Pasadena Pride on the Bestseller List & Other Links

by Patrick on August 10, 2009

We’re hard at work here on a larger project that will be blowing up your RSS feed soon enough.  In the meantime, please read these fine links and report back with your thoughts:

  • Richard Nash on the End of Indie. He uses Kaya Oakes’ book Slanted & Enchanted as a jumping off point for an interesting discussion of why indie doesn’t mean much anymore (The answer?  There’s no real mainstream).
  • And finally…music mavens rejoice:  Pitchfork will be counting down the top 500 songs of the decade, as well as featuring what sound like pretty interesting articles, including one on the social history of the mp3.  It’s all part of their P2K series, kicking off next Monday.
