The Great Vroman’s Holiday Video Collaboration Project

by Patrick on December 2, 2009

Some of you may remember last year’s epic holiday video (At 8 minutes plus it was, in internet terms, literally epic).  This year, we’re trying something different with our holiday video.  We’re going to produce an incredible, funny, entertaining and useful video featuring our favorite books and products this year, but we think we can do better than that.  Or, more specifically, we think you can do better than that.  That’s why we’re creating The Great Vroman’s Holiday Video Collaboration Project.  We’d like to hear what book you’d like to receive this holiday season.  What’s number one on your wishlist?  Tell us and you could win big.  Here’s how it works:

  1. Make a short video (less than 30 seconds) of yourself talking about a book you’d like to receive for the holidays this year.  No need to edit your video, just do it all in one shot.  You can even use the webcam built into your computer if you’d like.
  2. Upload your video to the web.  You can use any of the video services you’d like:  YouTube, Vimeo, Viddler, Facebook,, etc.
  3. Tweet it to Vromans with an @ reply (@vromans) or post it to our Facebook wall.

It’s that easy.  At the end of the project, we’ll put all the videos together into the largest, coolest, most outstanding gift guide on the internet.  It will be a resource for all of us, by all of us.  If you would like to participate, please upload your movie by December 17.  As a bonus, anyone who participates in the project will be entered to win a $100 Vroman’s gift card.  On December 18, we’ll pick one participant at random as the winner (In other words, it’s not about how great your video is, but rather that you participated at all).  Vroman’s gift cards are good on anything in the store, and they can now be used online at

If you think this sounds like fun, make a video!  And then tweet about this or Facebook it or add it to whatever sites you like to visit.  We’d love to see hundreds of people taking part in this project.  It would be a happier holiday for all of us.
